Not able to refresh from Desktop

Hi,

For the last few days we are not able to refresh a report from Desktop.

Getting below error: Error is coming for specific cluster in KUSTO only.

DataSource.Error: Web.Contents failed to get contents from 'https://kusto.aria.microsoft.com/v1/rest/query?db=0f7e2d7f1132433b82c0b49a3e7da349&csl=let%20ErrorDa...' (503): Service Unavailable

We are getting above error for every dataset where the connection is made using cluster "kusto.aria.microsoft.com".

Though the same report is getting refreshed Online using schedule refresh.

Hi @VipulSingh,

As the error stated, "(503): Service Unavailable", the issue happened to kusto.aria.microsoft.com service itself, the service is not available at a specific time.

In your scenario, as you mentioned the same report can be scheduled refresh successfully in Power BI service, I would suggest you click Refresh in desktop, and click Refresh Now for dataset in service at the same time, to see if refresh can finish.

By the way, please always try to run the latest desktop version.

Hi Qiuyun,

Tried to parallely run both refresh, but still getting the error.

Ran multiple manual/schedule refresh, able to refresh sucessfully only once, failing mostly with Service Unavailable error.
