Not able to get the group by function correct

I am trying to get the average value if different groups. But getting error as 'The expression contains multiple columns. Multiple columns cannot be converted to scalar value.'

 

Below is the formula I used:

I got the outcome I required using other way as per below:

But I want to get it done using group by function why that is giving the error?

@kishanthacker GROUPBY returns a table of values, not a single value so you need to use an aggregation like perhaps:

AVERAGEX( <your groupby code>, [Avg sales])

No that won't solve the problem. I tried around creating table measure or calculated table I am unsure what to call it (The symbol is combination of table and measure).
