[Noob] PowerBI Gantt Chartt - Legend don't discriminate by color

i All,

I'm testing the Microsoft Gantt chart for Power BI, following Visual Awesomeness Unlocked – Gantt chart | Microsoft Power BI Blog | Microsoft Power BI and Building a Gantt Chart using Power BI (microsoft.com). Still mostly at the test with mainly data from 2nd article. Feel simple... but there is one thing that I cannot do/have and it baffle me : when I put the team name in the legend, legend stay with only one color (and no name linked). Filter for same field show different team name.

Note that I tested the second visual from the video, the donut, and there the legend is correctly displayed and color are discriminated.

any idea what noob error I'm doing ?

Oh, I was writing an email to the Custom Visual Team, when I saw this post : Gantt chart legend color - Microsoft Fabric Community

I confirm it's the same thing, and the workaround of making a copy of the column to use as a legend worked.

@v-evelk could I ask if this issue is still in the backlog ? I'm surprised as original post was from 2019

well, as far as I see, I have the same issue than the OP, and as far as I see there is no response in this thread after OP response. As OP, I do not see any legend difference, so I cannot paint them differently as the helper was suggesting ...2023-07-12_0003.jpg2023-07-12_0004.jpg

oh sorry, I see that it appeared finally for him (but he don't know how 😕

I have also read that you must define Duration and Task to make colours work. They cannot be empty, but I have checked you have done it yet. Maybe you can contact Microsoft Power BI Custom Visuals support: pbicvsupport@microsoft.com

I tried this same thing where I created a calculated column that referenced the column I was using as my legend. It seemed to work with the color coding, but it also removed certain values from my chart. It does not seem to be related to any missing or blank fields, has anyone else run into this?

Maybe you should write the email to check if the problem still continues...

4 years without solving seems too much, isn't it?
