As it seems completely IMPOSSIBLE to change the input source file in a Power BI dashboard , I have no alternative but to chuck my work in the bin and START AGAIN. How very productive.
I want to save my NEW .PBIX file in a local folder, but once again, POWER BI has decided it rather likes keeping stuff in ONE DRIVE .
What happened to FREEDOM OF CHOICE ?

You can save the pbix in any place that you need.
When you are selecting a save as you can choose between recent /one drive or browse for others.
Please refer to the attached image :
