No Banded Row color in Outermost row header - Tabular Matrix

Hi.

When I expand the view to show both the primary and secondary row header, I lose the banded row color in the outermost (primary) row header.  Is there a way to adjust this and keep the tabular view and no subtotals?

Thanks in advance.

  • Hi lauriedata ,

    if we keep the matrix layout as compact then it is not possible.

    in tabular layout, you can keep the color.

    Select your Matrix visual, go to format your visual pane and select tabular as shown below.

    Thanks and Regards,

  •  I figured it out.  I needed to check "repeat row headers" to have the banding show in the outer row field when multiple row fields are used.  Thanks

  • Hi lauriedata

    You can create an aux table for column labeling, as shown in the following figure:

    Then manually set the column width of the two columns of the row label to the minimum, thereby achieving visual hiding, as following figure:

    The measure as below:

    Measure =
    VAR CurRow_Category = MAX('Fact'[Category])
    VAR CurRow_Product = MAX('Fact'[Product Name])
    VAR CurCol_Type = MAX('AuxTable'[Type])
    VAR CurCol_Item = MAX('AuxTable'[ColumnItem])
    RETURN
    SWITCH(
        TRUE(),
        CurCol_Type<>"Label",
            CALCULATE(SUM('Fact'[Sales]),TREATAS(VALUES('AuxTable'[ColumnItem]),'Fact'[Month])),
        CurCol_Type="Label",
            SWITCH(CurCol_Item,"Category",CurRow_Category,"Product Name",CurRow_Product)
    )

    Did I answer your question? If yes, pls mark my post as a solution and appreciate your Kudos !

    Thank you~

        Hi lauriedata ,

        okay then please check snapshot and apply similar settings like repeat row headers.

        or try indentation  feature.

        Thanks and Regards,
