Hi, I am in the process of learning Power BI and will need to eventually migrate all of my SSRS reports over to Power BI.
I have Power BI desktop installed and we use the cloud based version of it.
With SSRS, I am used to publishing reports to a central report site, is it the same concept in Power BI using the cloud? I know I have my own workspace, but I cant tell whether the same centralized "report site" is a concept that exists in Power BI.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Apps are an extension of the workspace and allow you to share different reports from the workspace with different groups by setting up different audience for the app. Then you can include report A and B from the workspace for audience 1 and report A and C from the workspace for audience 2.

Makes sense. Looks like I got some playing around and testing to do, much appreciated.
I have not worked with SSRS but the idea of a central report site sounds like a workspace in PowerBI.

This is the typical way reports are shared with users. They are published to a workspace and the user is granted access to the report or the entire workspace.
Thanks for the info. Yea that seems to be the way to go from what ive read.
Im also reading up on Apps in Power BI, might be able to find out whether adding an app and granting access to that is also an option.
