New to Power BI

Relatively new to Power BI. Looking for some guidance?

 

Loaded up two tables with very similar data with different names, only one column differs in values. I would like to compare the two values together to understand variance between the two? Is this creating a measure or using relationships? Tried to use relationship however got error message regarding columns not having unique values?

    Could you post some sample data or some made up data that emulates your data?

      If i load up two different tables, "Sales 1" and "Sales 2" which have all the same column headers except one where Sales 1 has"This year" and Sales 2 has "last year" where the values differ and i want to compare these two columns to understand the variance, how could this be done?

        Hi RossCurrie15,

        You can use “Merge Queries “ feature to join the two tables tomake the "last year" column and "This year" column in a single table such as Sales 1, then create a new column in Sales 1 using formula like: Difference = 'Sales 1'[This year]-'Sales 1'[NewColumn.Last year] to compare values of the two different columns.         And you can check the example in this attached PBIX file. If you don’t get expected result, please help to post sample data of your scenario.
