New to PBI - How to construct Text & Value List?

How do I construct a text and value selection list:

Example List:

Name (Text to be displayed) -  ID (Value hidden)

James Smith                              109876

Ian Hunter                                  1221

Need to pass the ID to other tables (Dax)

That is done via the data model. Use the ID to join the tables.
