New Column DAX formatting in the edit window

When adding a new column under the 'Data' icon on the left I am unable to format my DAX code for the new column.  This is where you go into the 'Data' icon, highlight the table on the right you want to add a new column to and right click and select 'Add a new column'.

I am trying to format the DAX code so it's easily readable instead of everything on the same line.  The problem is when <ENTER> is pressed it proccesses the DAX code entered when what I really want is to add a new line.  For now, I have been formatting my DAX code in notepad and them pasting it into the new column code.  Is there a better way to format the DAX code for readability??  Since <ENTER> processes the DAX code, how do I add a new line in edit window??
