New Card Autogrid column
Hello,
In a visual where I used the new card visual in Power BI, the autogrid feature was enabled when I selected more than four columns as the multi-category layout. However, with the new update, we can only create a maximum of four columns if the autogrid feature is enabled. Is there a solution to this problem?
Hi,
Unfortunately i couldnt find a solution, so i decided to create a similar visual with Deneb for now.
thank you

Hii MVazz
Microsoft restricted the Autogrid layout to a maximum of 4 columns when multi-category layout is used. This behavior is part of the new visual design and cannot be changed from the formatting pane.
If you need more than 4 columns:
Turn OFF Autogrid >> manually choose the number of columns
Or use the old (Classic) Card visual if your report supports itThere is no current option to increase Autogrid beyond 4 in the new Card visual.

Thank you for your reply.
The number of columns varies depending on the slicer selection. If I set it manually, I'll end up with gaps when the number of columns decreases.
If I choose 4 columns, the scrollbar appears when the number of columns increases.
Since the report has been published, do you have a visual suggestion that I can use to provide the autogrid feature?

Thank you! Turning off the Autogrid did the trick for me. I hated that they changed the max number of columns, it defaced my dashboards completely

Hi MVazz
Thank you for the update, and I’m glad you were able to find a temporary workaround using Deneb. At the moment, the multi-category layout in the new Card visual does have a limitation where the autogrid supports a maximum of four columns. This has already been raised with the Product Group for review, as several users rely on more flexible grid formatting for category-based layouts.
To help prioritize improvements, it would be great if you could upvote or share feedback on the existing idea in the Power BI Ideas forum. The more community traction it receives, the quicker the engineering team can assess and address the limitation.
We appreciate your patience and contribution to the community. If any further guidance is needed with Deneb or once updates are released for the Card visual, please feel free to reach back out we’re here to help!
