New Button Slicer Layout (Feb. 2024 Update)

Hi all,

I have a report with new slicer buttons.

Until recently (yesterday?) if I used any other visual to filter data, the button slicer got filtered, but the layout remained the same.

However, now the layout/grid seem to change and the buttons change their shape, making them look ugly and ackward.

Unfiltered

Filter via a product tabel.

It seems like the MS PowerBi team changed the layout options from fixed columns and rows to dynamic rows with maximum number:

New layout options (It is in German but should be clear anyway. Spalten = Columns; Maximale Anzahl gezeigter Zeilen = Maximum number of visible rows)

Layout options as it was announced (https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/new-slicer-button-public-preview/)

Do you know any way how to fix the number of rows in the Feb. update?

I do not want the button shape to change, but would like to keep the slicer be filterable, because it shows me the product category if I click into other visuals.

Thanks

Alex

Yeah this is annoying and needs to be fixed. Can someone confirm if this was intentional or not? & either provide a fix or a workaround we can use? Thanks

Hi all,

I can confirm I have the same issue and needs to be fixed ASAP. I noticed the change on the Service and when I also updated to the latest February update on the Desktop version I had the same issue there.

Thanks,

Dimitris
