Hello,
I need to filter by cost centre. This should then filter all relevant Partners and Assistants in the company. I then need to display all relevant invoices that have EITHER a relevant Partner OR Assistant.
Please can you tell me the simplest way to acheive this (we need to cross train an inexperienced Power BI programmer)? It doesn't need to be the most efficient, just the easiest to understand for an inexperienced Power BI programmer.
(the below attempt isn't working because power bi is refusing to make the highlighted relationship active, and if it was allowed it wouldn't work correctly because the filter would be an AND rather than an OR (i.e. if a cost centre had no relevant assistants then the invoices for the relevant partners wouldn't show))
This is the pbix file -> https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/6b998tkcldu5i4qeqwgqc/Double-Filter-Relationships-Mockup.pbix?rlkey=e...
Thank you,
PW
Hi @PowerWhy
If you want an OR filter, you can't be using an active relationship to show relavant invoice numbers. While you can get the correct total, the visible rows will be based on the slicer selection. For example, even if the total of the measurse shows 4 as there are four rows based on the OR selection, only the invoices relevant to the slicer selection will be visible. In this case, you can duplicate the dimension tables to make them disconnected and then use a measure to filter a visual. Please see attached pbix.
