Need to create Ticker

I was asked to create a ticker like the National Debt Ticker.

First question is this even possible?

If so what is the best way to go about this?

We have buildt a dashboard following some iniatitives our company has put in place to save a certain amount of money this FY.  We know much we have to save a day to meet this goal.

We were able to write a DAX code that does what we want.  The only thing we can't get it to do is auto refresh.  Is there a way to refresh data in Power Bi other than manually?  Can a task be scheduled or a thrid party product that can send a message to Power BI to update a report or dashboard?

Hi @4Eric,

In Power BI desktop, we can't refresh automatically, you can create report in Power Bi desktop, then publish it to service. Install a gateway, add a datasource in your gateway, and configure a refresh schedule, the dataset and repot will update based on your schedule. More details, please review the following articles.

During this FY we have 12 initiatives that are set to save the company 55.5 million dollars.  To meet this goal we need to save 152,000 dollars a day.  Just to stress to management that time is ticking, we were asked to create a ticker showing we should have saved this amount of money at this moment in time.  It would have to auto refresh.  This ticker would be beside our visualization showing how much we have actually saved as of the last two weeks.

National Debt Ticker is not my area of expertise. From the link you posted, the data is real-time. In Power BI, real-time data is unsupported besides Real-time streaming. There are three types of real-time datasets below which are designed for display on real-time dashboards. You can check more details from the link.

1.Push dataset
2.Streaming dataset
3.PubNub streaming dataset

Actually, I am confused about your requirement, please share more details to analyze.
