I'd like to create a Power BI button that invokes a POST method on a REST api. For the button, I've only been able to do a 'GET' call via the WEB URL action.
Any thoughts or alternatives on how to invoke a POST method ?
Hello @rajeshchawla I'v recently seen Daniel Sanders on pbig.nl summit, from https://plainwater.nl/ he created a function app that converts a get request into a post request. It has some limitations for instance the importance of security, and he warns for that. Secondly if you want to do a datarefresh by pushing a buton, you might try power automate or logic app https://www.process.st/how-to/refresh-power-bi-dataset-using-power-automate/
Hi @rajeshchawla ,
Sorry to disturb you...
But did I answer your question ? Please mark my reply as solution. Thank you very much.

I see from your post how to invoke POST methods via M. However, I don't see how this would solve the use case of invoking a POST method as a button action on a report. Perhaps I'm missing something ?

Thank you for taking the time. I see from your post how to invoke POST methods via M / PowerQuery. However, I don't see how this would solve the use case of invoking a POST method as a button action on a report. Perhaps I'm missing something ?
