Need help in Power BI connection to Deltek Cloud Via ODBC

I connected Power BI to Deltek Cloud via ODBC . What I see are only the column headers and no data.

I used the SQL script that was written previously when we are on Deltek On-prem.

But, In future, where do I write the SQL queries ? We used SQL SERVER for Deltek On-prem

I used Deltek cloud for connecting the POWER BI via ODBC. But when executed the SQL query in Power BI only Query Schema/ Table column headers fetched and not the data ? why ?

Hi @vinayvascuri ,

Below are my own thoughts:

1. The easiest way to do this is to retry the operation you performed.

2. Ensure that your SQL query is correctly written and targets the correct tables and columns. Sometimes, a miswritten query might only fetch metadata instead of actual data.

3. In Power BI, verify that the data source settings are correctly configured. Ensure that the query is set to fetch data and not just metadata. You can also try refreshing the data source or re-importing the data.

4. There might be issues with the data source itself. Ensure that the data is available and that there are no connectivity issues between Power BI and the Deltek cloud.

Hi @vinayvascuri ,

Here is my personal take on your problem:

You can take the following steps for the problem you are currently experiencing:

1. Ensure that your ODBC driver is correctly configured and that you have the necessary ODBC licensing for Deltek Cloud.

2. Verify that the user account used for the ODBC connection has the appropriate permissions to access the data.

3. The SQL script written for the on-premise setup might need adjustments to work with the cloud environment. Ensure that the table names, schema, and any specific SQL syntax are compatible with Deltek Cloud.
