Hello:
I am trying to create a shape map that shows both county and state (U.S.) borders. Currently, we are using the "us-albers-counties.json" file we obtained from GitHub. My colleague created a location field showing county borders that concatenates state and county FIPS codes.
Our assumptions at this point are that we may need to 1) add a state location field or map and overlay that with the existing map, or 2) obtain a new JSON file that includes these borders.
Thanks in advance!
Hi @johnwedeles ,
Sorry for that, we did not know what border is missed in this map file. Could you please describle more detail what you want to show in this map?
Best regards,
Thanks for your reply. Please see the map on this page for an example of what we are trying to accomplish: https://flowingdata.com/2009/11/12/how-to-make-a-us-county-thematic-map-using-free-tools/
As you can see, this map shows both county borders and state borders. We want to show variation at the county level - that is how our data are set up.
Thanks @v-lid-msft - just wanted to bump my reply from last week. Appreciate any guidance you can offer.
Hi @johnwedeles ,
Sorry for late reply, based on my test, the map config you are using actually has a county key, but the border of state and county can only be set to the same color and size in settings, we did not find how to chang the style of borders for different category.
we are researching if there are other workaround to achieve this effect in Shape map, and we will update here if we find it.
Best regards,
