Hello everyone,
I'm encountering an issue with the metric visual in Power BI and I could use some guidance. The problem arises when there is an outlier in my data, causing the metric visual to reset its axis range to that outlier. As a result, the other data points are pushed all the way to the bottom, making it difficult to observe any meaningful trends.
I have tried adjusting the axis range and scale within the visualizations pane, but it seems to only affect the color of the line, rather than the positioning of the data points. I also attempted removing the outlier from the dataset, but this approach didn't provide the desired results.
Is there a way to modify the axis range and scale in the metric visual to ensure that the trend of the non-outlier data is visible? Are there any alternative methods or workarounds that I can try to address this issue?
I would greatly appreciate any suggestions or insights you may have. Thank you in advance for your assistance!
Hi @Shamir ,
According to my knowledge, your requirement could not be realized currently.
Power BI metric visual does not support customizing the range and interval of your Axis. Therefore, when the difference between your outliers and normal values is very large, it is difficult to keep the outliers while making other trends visible.
You can try to find other similar custom visuals.
If you also want this in Power BI line and clustered column chart, let the power bi community to know this things and give your votes at Fabric Ideas, you may vote the idea and comment to improve this feature. It is a place for customers provide feedback about Microsoft Fabric products . What’s more, if a feedback is high voted there by other customers, it will be promising that Microsoft Product Team will take it into consideration when designing the next version in the future.
Best Regards,
Jianbo Li
