    Hi mianjalil239 ,

According to the design of power bi, when you don't enter a value in the filter, it doesn't apply any filtering and the apply filter button is grayed out.

If you want this field to initially not show any data, you can set a condition that the filter is empty and later adjust it as needed.

If your Current Period does not refer to this, please clarify in a follow-up reply.

    Best Regards,

    Clara Gong

        Hi mianjalil239 ,

The Filters pane displays the fields in a single visual object as well as any other filters added by the report designer. So you can drag in fields that are not in the visual object to be filtered, the filters are filtering the data to be displayed based on all the results, so all values will be displayed if they are not filled in.

If you want to not show the data at first, you can try the parameter in the paginated report, if you don't set the default value, it will show the data after you select the parameter.
