Need Help Matrix Hierarchy table row header formatting to be white
Hello ,
Need help on a Matrix table i only want new and return columns to be white background and black font, but row subtotals since color is grey keep making them same color. How to do we fix that
need to show like this, totals are grey but does not affect New and Return
Row header settings:
Row subtotal settings
Hi GGworks
That is possible if those individual columns are separate measures but since the dates are coming from a column, together with the first two columns they form part of the column headers. There's currently no way to selctively apply color fill to column headers.
After more research you are correct has to be two values. However older version before september 2025 the row headers settings did work after revisiting, seems like a bug with the new version on row headers with hierachy. Thanks.

Oi, tudo bem?
Obrigada.

Hi,
I am not sure if I understood your question correctly, but please try to change Row headers color after drill-up.
In the below screencapture, I tried to show the different color under New and under Return, and I hope this might help.
Thank you.

Hi GGworks ,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.
To clarify, the Matrix visual currently doesn’t support applying different background colors to specific row-header levels. Since “New,” “Return,” “Yes,” and “No” all come from the same field hierarchy, formatting applied to subtotals or totals will always override the row-header styling.
As danextian is correctly menationed selective coloring of row headers is only possible when each item is driven by its own measure. Which means you can format Values, Subtotals, and Grand Totals separately, but you cannot format Level 1 row headers (New/Return) differently from subtotals within the same hierarchy.
As a workaround if you need full control (e.g., totals yellow, Yes/No blue, New/Return white), you’ll need to rebuild the matrix using separate measures, which allows applying colors independently.
Hope this helps. Please feel free to reach out for further assistance.
Thank you.
