My Datasource model is automatically changed from composite to live model.

My report was made up of a composite model - (import and Direct), but now when I am downloading it from service it is converted to a live mode automatically. Below is the screenshot for the same as when I download the report from service the first option is disabled.

You only seeing the second option doesnt mean your report that was published in Power BI Service itself has now been converted to a live connection. My report that is a composite model shows both options. Even my reports that are connecting in import mode show both options as well. Its just giving you an option to download the report that will have a live connection with the dataset should you choose to do so.

Choosing this mode results in downloading a .pbix file that contains the report you're downloading, but no data. Instead, the .pbix has a live connection to the dataset in the Power BI service. This mode is especially useful in situations in which Power BI Desktop would be unable to open the .pbix file if the data was included, such as for reports based on a dataset that is configured for large models or incremental refresh, or reports that have been modified by using the XMLA endpoint.
Now, the reason you cant see the first option which is prob what you are after is likely due to some other limitation. If you hover over the greyed part, what tooltip do you see? You should get some explanation as to why its greyed out.

when I hover to the greyed part it is mentioning that you cannot select this option because your report is using live connection.
The issue is even if i download the dataset copy of the report and change the table mode to import, when I am publishing it again on service, The table connection becomes live.
I am saying it again , this report was not in live connection earlier. It was a composite model and when I am opening any previous version of that report which was a composite model earlier, it has now automatically converted to live mode.Hi Anonymous ,
So you dont have any version of the report that is still a composite model?
That is really strange... Your composite model should have not been automatically converted to live connection when you published the report. Perhaps what happened was someone downloaded a copy of the live connection of the report and overwrote the previous version? I find it strange that even when you change it to import mode, it suddenly becomes live as well when you publish it?
What I would do is the following:
1. Open up the pbix file with the dataset used for the report and confirm the storage mode at the bottom of the page.
Ensure that you see Storage Mode Mixed if you want it to be composite:
If you see something like this report is connected live to xxx then that is confirmation that the report is not import or composite or direct but live. So make sure when you are in Power BI Desktop, it does not say that.
2. Publish that report in a Workspace.
3. In Power BI Service, open up that report and try to download it and see if both options are available
If all else fails, I would recommend raising a ticket with Microsoft Support.
