Multiply Price by sales depending on the date

Hello! I have a table similar to this one below:

pablopsoto_0-1637775804840.png

And I have another table with the sales and the date they ocurred related by product. I would like to multiply the number of sales by the price depending on if they happened before or after a date shown on the table above.

Currently I multiply the sales by the price like this:

SumX(Sales, Sales[Quantity]*Related(Product[Price])

Do you have a suggestion on how could I achieve this?

Thanks a lot!!

Hi,

I am not sure if I understood your question correctly, but please check the below picture and the attached pbix file.

Picture1.png

Sales Total: =
VAR currentdate =
MAX ( Dates[Date] )
VAR salestotal =
SUMX (
Sales,
Sales[Quantity]
* IF (
currentdate <= RELATED ( 'Product'[Date] ),
RELATED ( 'Product'[PriceBefore] ),
RELATED ( 'Product'[PriceAfter] )
)
)
RETURN
salestotal

I just needed to change the current date to sales date. I would like to still accept your answer as a solution.

Thank you very much!

Hello! Thank you so much for taking your time to answer me. Your solution helped me a lot but it is still not exactly what I was looking for.

I created some tables on your pbix file. I filtered product A in all tables for simplicity. If you see the tables above, product A has a Sales quantity of 317 before the product date and 219 after.

What I want is Sales Total: to calculate (317*10) + (219*15) = 6455. But currently is calculating all 536*15 = 8030. I hope you understand my explanation.

Thank you very much for your help! Pablo
