Multiple two different columns from two different tables
Hello,
i think it is a simple question :
Hwo can i multiple two different columns (cost * sales_quanity) from two different tables:
table1
item cost
4711 99,90
table2
item sales_quantity
4711 300,00
Cost-gross= ???????

That's should be easy if you could create a relationship between the two tables.
Have you solved the problem with the answers from quentin_vigne and alexei7?

Hi Piet
If there is a joint between your 2 tables the formula will be :
Cost-gross = table1[cost] * table2[sales_quantity]

Hi Piet,
Yes this should be quite simple. If in the relationships view of Power BI desktop you check that table1 is joined to table2.
Then you can create your formula ("cost * sales_quantity").
When you create your table make sure you bring in the "item" field from table1.
