Multiple SAP BW4Hana datasources

Hi,

I want to use SAP BW4Hana queries as a data source for my dashboard. When I incorporate a query using DirectQuery, I'm unable to include additional queries (or other data sources) since the area is disabled. Is there a way to use multiple SAP BW4Hana queries as a data source in DirectQuery mode?

Hi @Verena

Following your existing given instructions, I have tested it and it was found that Currently Power BI using Direct Query mode cannot import data from multiple Direct Query data sources at the same time.

Unfortunately, this is by design. Power BI is now unable to achieve what you need. You can submit an idea for it at  https://ideas.powerbi.com/ideas/ and wait for users with the same needs as you to vote for you to help make it happen as soon as possible.

There is a workaround to consider: You can create separate reports for each SAP BW4Hana query, and then put these reports into the dashboard.

Hi @Anonymous ,

I found another solution.

I created a separate report for each SAP BW query and connected the data using DirectQuery. Then I published the reports. I then created a new report. The data source for this report was a PowerBI semantic model (the model of a BW query). This way I was able to combine several SAP BW queries in one report. I can also set relationships and create shared filters. However, there are major performance losses. Is there a way to improve performance?

Thank you for your help!
