Natalie_iTalent if someone is changing companies and email addresses, how can they retain access to their Fabric Community forum account?

Hi Anonymous,
Thanks for the reply from audreygerred.
Do you want to keep all your reports or dashboards in the workspace after you leave the company?
Could you please share a bit more about the account type you want to keep?
If you want to keep your work-related account like Power BI account that is tied to your current company's domain (e.g., [email protected]), the account is typically owned by the company, and access will likely be revoked after your departure. You will need to work with your IT or admin team to export or transfer data before you leave (if permitted).
If you want to duplicate workspace, you could consider Duplicating workspaces by using Power BI cmdlets
If you want to migrate reports or other resources to another tenant, you could consider use API or PowerShell:

Hi,
Does it mean that I can't access my fabric account using my previous company's email address unless I consider migration? Is that the case?
If migration is possible then I'm happy to progress with it as long I can get access to my solved messages in my fabric account...Is my understanding correct?
I need help about the migration
Thanks...tksnota...

Hi Anonymous,
Once you leave your previous company, you will likely lose access to your work email address. This means you won’t be able to log in to your Fabric forum account if it’s tied to that email address unless you migrate the account to a personal email address.
Log in to your Fabric forum account and see if you can update your email address, if you can, you can transfer your Fabric forum account (including your solved messages, posts, and other contributions) to a personal email address (e.g., Gmail, Outlook, etc.).
You could process it in the account settings. Here’s how you can proceed:
-
Log in to Your Fabric Forum Account: Use your current work email address to log in.
-
Go to Account Settings: Look for an option to update your email address.
-
Change to a Personal Email: Replace your work email with a personal email address.
-
Verify the New Email: You may need to verify the new email address by clicking a confirmation link sent to your personal email.
If the Fabric forum does not allow email address changes or account migration, you can:
- Save your content manually
- Create a new account

Hi Anonymous, it seems that the question is regarding Fabric forum community account at https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/, not Fabric related content created by a user in its company's domain (e.g. PBI semantic model, reports and etc.) 🙂
