    why not get the min and max months selected instead?

    MinMaxMonths = 
VAR MinMonth = FORMAT(MIN('Calendar'[Month]), "mmm-yy")
VAR MaxMonth = FORMAT(MAX('Calendar'[Month]), "mmm-yy")
RETURN MinMonth & ">" & MaxMonth
