Monitor multiple dashboard usage metrics for multiple workspaces for more than 30 days

Hi Gurus!

I have been navigating through various posts over the last few days on the forum and internet without any straightforward success.

Can you please help me with the following:

We have 4 Workspaces (all of them "Pro") which house 5-15 Dashboards each.

Is there a way to pull usage data of each dashboard from each workspace and present the stats through another dashboard?

All workspaces are at Pro capacity, I am the "admin" on all 4, BUT I am not the IT admin (ms365) on any.

Looking for an automated way to pull the data, stored them somewhere and then connect to these data for a "Dashboard usage" dashboard. Would like to stack month over month indefinately.

Any ideas?

Hi @IoannisT ,

From what I understand, it's necessary to have tenant level admin to get the ‘ViewDashboard’ in the audit activity event using the power bi rest api:

Admin - Get Activity Events - REST API (Power BI Power BI REST APIs) | Microsoft Learn

In addition, consider using powershell or power automate etc. for automated auditing processes:

Power BI implementation planning: Tenant-level auditing - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

Access the Power BI activity log - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

Best regards,

Joyce

Hi  v-yajiewan-msft

Do you have to have an example of succesful implementation so I can follow through?
