Modelling with Multiple Date Tables
Hello PBI experts,
I am modelling data that flows through a process over multiple days. All the transactional tables are linked together through UUIDs so that I can track the product going through the process. I have created 5 date tables for each transactional table (each process has a transactional table).
Now I am trying to create an overview page of everything that happned in a specific day. For example in the above picture, I want to be able to filter on day 2 and see everything that went through process 1, process 2 & process 3 on that day.
My plan was to create a "Master Date" table and link the 5 date tables to the Master table.
But because of the relationships between the transactional tables, it is not allowing me to do that as it will bring ambiguity into my model.
I'm thinking I need to load the transactional tables into my model again, with no relationships, and link these tables to the master date table. But my model is already huge, I wanted to know if there is a better way?
Thank you,
Katie
Use a single Date table but keep it disconnected or with inactive relationships. Then use TREATAS or USERELATIONSHIP in your measures as needed.
