Model object names must be non-empty error message

Hi,

I am receiving the following message when using Power BI "Model Objects names must be non-empty". What does this error message mean and how do I correct ir?

Regards,

Gus Dahu

  • Hi gusdahu,

Which action do you perform then the error throws out?

Based on my test, the cause maybe you promote the first row as headers, but in a couple of columns it was empty(like the below picture), so you got the error. I suggest you to rename the missing columns and it will be solved.

      Hi Daniel,

The issue was that I had some blank columns in my data set. Once I deleted the blank columns, the error went away.

      Thank you for following up!

This is helpful! One of my tables has a column without header that caused by someone mistakenly added a null column in the source file. AI told me almost every possibility but the one you suggested. You are amazing.

One of my source files had an empty header in one column, that was all. Thanks for your contribution.
