Model.bim to data source
The Solution is replace model.bim with any new desktop pbip folder
inside the semantic model folder replace the model.bim
Thanks for the update. Based on your description, it seems you're aiming to use the .bim file in Power BI Desktop to get full access such as viewing the Data view, refreshing tables, and managing relationships, similar to working with an imported model. However, when you connect to a semantic model deployed in a workspace, Power BI creates a live connection. This allows you to use all tables and measures, but you can't refresh data or access the Data view in Power BI Desktop.
It's also important to note that .bim files store only the structure of the model (tables, relationships, measures), not the actual data. So, connecting to it means you're using the model live, not a local data copy.
If you need full control to edit, refresh, and manage the data in Power BI Desktop, rebuilding the model in Import mode is the best option.
