Missing data between query mode and visualization mode after refresh

Hi all,

I have an issue with the visualization of my data in PowerBI.

My input is made of the 2 following documents :

  • 1: Data from 2019 : 574 950 rows and 41 columns
  • 2: Data from 2020 : 69 804 rows and 41 columns

In query mode I have combined both documents, filtered some rows and suppressed some columns to only keep a table with 15 columns and roughly 640 000 rows. I then added 13 calculated columns with DAX formulas.

Problem is : between query mode and visualization mode, all the latest data did not appear (approximately 25 000 rows). Thinking it was a matter of table size I suppressed one column of the table as a test but nothing happened after actualization. The weird thing is that when I undid the suppression and then actualized again, the missing data came back!

I tried the manipulation on several versions of my pbix file, it always does the same.

Have anyone encountered same situations before? Or is there a limit to inputs and table sizes that PowerBI can handle?

Thank you in advance for your time!

Hi @miette_d ,

" Or is there a limit to inputs and table sizes that PowerBI can handle? "

About this question, you can refer to this answer:

Data Model Limitations in Power BI Desktop

In addition, do you use import mode to load data source?
Your question may have the following reasons:
1. Cache limitation (Refer to the link above).
2. The data is too large, and there is a delay. Please refresh or wait for a while, then check again.
3. Version problem (The latest version is: 2.78.5740.721 64-bit (February 2020))
4. Data source has a problem.
4. Problems occurred during combining documents.
5. The data is aggregated in a chart.

6. Other.

Best regards,
Lionel Chen

Visulization do not show duplicate values but query mode do show.

CHeck if there are duplicates or not.
