I'm trying to access CSV files through my on prem gateway.
The gateway is connecting just fine but when I attemp to add the data source in the PowerBi service I'm recieving an error message "The credentials provided for the file source are invalid".
the Windows user account I'm using has strict access to only the folder where the file is located. I'm wondering if there's specific permissions levels that the Windows user account requires in order to pass data through the gateway?
I can't find anything in the documentation that clarifies this for me.
Note:
Thanks in advance
Hi @Tflynn ,
You can enter the credential which is the same as you connect it in desktop. When you add data source to the gateway, specify the windows account in the domain \ username format and test whether it can access the source in the machine which you installed the enterprise gateway.

Hey @Tflynn ,
I'm wondering if the service account the gateway is using has access to the folder where the csv files are located.

Tom
