Since last month, it’s no longer possible to create new Bing Maps visuals in Power BI.
👉 This visual has been replaced by Azure Maps, which is more modern and fully integrated into the Microsoft ecosystem.
Migrating from Bing Maps to Azure Maps is straightforward:
➡️ Just click “Upgrade” directly in your existing visual.
No worries about billing 💰
➡️ Azure Maps is included with your Power BI license, at no additional cost.
Bubble sizes may differ slightly between Bing Maps and Azure Maps (some may appear smaller).
Make sure to adjust your visuals to maintain the same look and feel.
Verify that Azure Maps tenant settings are enabled in your Power BI Admin portal.
Published reports are created using Power BI Desktop or Power BI Report Builder.
Therefore, any mapping update or transition — such as migrating from Bing Maps to Azure Maps — will impact these existing reports.
