Microsoft 365 Usage statistics doesn't connect

Hi, 

I downloaded the Microsoft 365 PowerBI from Microsofts own blog: 
Customize the reports in Microsoft 365 usage analytics - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn

But when I try to connect to it, it doesnt seem to work. 

When I enter my companies tenent ID, I run into this error:

I don't have admin rights for our Micorosoft 365, is that necessary? 

I'm doing this to get more statistics for our Sharepoint usage.

I used this once years ago and from what I remember yes, an admin account is required. You might be able to talk your IT into making you a service account for this that you don't have the credentials to, if they're not willing to make you an admin.
