Merging cells of table in Power BI Matrix visualization

I have a data that collected monthly and quarterly. Now I want to visualize it using Matrix. However, I want to show the quarterly data by merging the cells together as shown in the images below.

For example, my visualziation is currenly looking like below.

Power BI merge rows 1.PNG

And I want to make it look like the following:

Power BI merge rows.PNG

Can anyone please tell me if it is possible to achieve this in Power BI Matrix visualization?

Hi @Anonymous

It is not supported to you to merge cells by columns in Matrix currently in Power BI.

Try to add your hierachy in Matrix Rows.

If your sample is as below, try to fill up the values in Documents and Books, then select ID and Value column and use Pivote function in Power Query Editor.

New Table:

Build a martix visual as below, and you need to turn off Stepped layout in Rowheader in Format.

@Anonymous , I doubt you can merge like you have shown. You can have Qtr(along with Mon year) also on the column and there you get sub total of the qtr.
