Merge Query

Hi,

I have a base table and several intermediate tables using which I used the Merge Query option to start with the base table and mege with other intermediate tables one by one.

After Merge, I also selected the columns that I need from the first intermediate table and so on.

Now the requirement has been modified and I need more columns to be selected from the initial Merge Queries. When I click on the settings icon on the Applied Steps pane, I only see the columns that I had previously selected.

Is there any way I can edit a previous merge and add those additonal columns or do I have to redo all the Merges again?

Regards,

Vishy

Hi,

In the Merge Query, you need to click on the Expand columns step in the Applied steps pane and there you can tick more boxes to bring over more columns.

Thanks Ashish, I was clicking on the Source settings before.

I had another query related to this. I have 1 Base Table joined to 5 Intermediate tables to create my final dataset.

I do "Merge as New" one by one so I have 5 datasets Merge 1,2,3,4,5 in addition to the base table and 5 intermediate tables.

Can I uncheck "Enable Load" for all the tables i.e. base table, intermediate tables and Merge 1,2,3,4.

Only Merge 5 is needed for my report as that's my final dataset. Please advise on the best practice. Thanks.

Yes, if you'd like table "Merge 5" only, you could disable "enable load" for other tables.

Best Regards

Hi,

I do not have the answer to that question.  Someone else will help you.
