Mekko Chart Behaving Unpredictably With Filters

I have a report that uses the Mekko chart custom visual. The report was developed, tested, and deployed with no unexpected behavior. Without any changes to the underlying dataset or the report itself, the Mekko chart has begun to behave unpredictably when filtered - sometimes it won't respond to filters at all, other times it will respond to one filter but not another. Other visualization types within the report function as expected.

In one case I loaded the report in the service to see that the Mekko chart contained no data at all, but after removing and re-adding a filter the visualization loaded normally. The report uses a very simple Excel sheet as a source and the data model contains just over 52,000 rows.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this with the Mekko custom visual?
