Measure Name already exists while no double names
- Anonymous4 years ago
v-luwang-msft Thanks for your time testing it. I was able to solve the problem. In PowerQuery Editor, I changed the columns name from ColumnA to ColumnAHidden (so that it matches the renamed col name in the reporting view). This solved the problem.
Still feels very strange that I only got the error when adding a non-related table. Seems like a bug.
Anonymous No, the relationships shouldn't matter. You can turn off the auto-recognition of relationships though and try it. Maybe you used a reserve word for the table? Hard to say. You could check the Issues forum here:

And if it is not there, then you could post it.

Greg_Deckler , when looking more into detail in the PowerQueryEditor, I found the following:
In PowerQueryEditor, table X has a column with name 'ColumnA'.
When the PowerQueryEditor is closed, and I search for the column in the reportview, I see that it is renamed 'ColumnAHidden' inside the report view. A measure 'ColumnA' is then created with 'ColumnA' = SUM('ColumnAHidden').
Is this something that can give a problem? That the columnname in the PowerQueryEditor is the same as the measure name (='ColumnA'), eventhough the column name is renamed outside PowerQueryEditor ('ColumnA' --> 'ColumnAHidden')?
As the name says itself, the 'ColumnAHidden' is hidden in the reporting view (although this probably does not matter).
However, this naming was always the case when refreshing, and I only received an error message when adding a table that had no link to the table X that I mentioned above.
