May 2024 Update - Issues with Relationships and Sort By Column
I updated recently to the May 2024 version. After installing, I had problems with both Manage Relationships and Sort By Column. When trying to Manage Relationships, Power BI threw a message:
"Cannot perform interop call to: MinervaDialogHost_modelingServiceHostService.ExecuteDataQueries......"
Likewise, when trying to use the Sort By Column under Column Tools, Power BI threw a message:
"Cannot perform interop call to: exploreClientInteropHost_modelingServiceHostService.ExecuteDataQueries......"
To fix both issues, I have reverted back to March 2024 version and the above functionality works fine. I work on a Windows Server 2019 with much free space.
Any help would be appreciated.
MaineGuy1993 Report it on the issue forum. I have seen someone else complain about the May update (a different issue) and it was recommended by MSFT that it is a known bug and they have to revert to the older version until the bug is fixed.

Thank you parry2k. I will do that. I have been using PBI for years. Only now I have joined this community. I appreciate your help.

There has been no follow up from MS on the issue. However, I had problems with my credentials on the server I was working from for PBI apps. I ended up moving to PBI Desktop installed on my laptop. I do not have the same problem on my laptop as I did on the server. I am able to use the most recent version of PBI with no issues. I assumed it was something to do with my server that IT can't figure out. Are you doing PBI Desktop on a server or laptop/desktop? Interesting you are having the same issues. I don't mind working on from my desktop, but it does slow down my updates/downloads etc because the apps still reside on the server. That is my disadvantage and sometimes a significant disadvantage when working on a PBI that is approaching .5 GB in size. My advantage is I can have my SQL open on my Server and my PBI open on my laptop and work in tandem instead of flipping back and forth.
