Matrix with left hand totals

A matrix visual shows totals on the right.

It can be annoying to scroll far right to see them.

Is it possible to show them in the left?

I see that this request has been voted for many times since 2017

Does anyone know  ....

  •  is there a matrix on the app store that has a left hand total option?
  •  is there any work arroud with dax, custom visuals, etc?
  •  if and when the voted request will become avaiable?

Many thanks, Ramps

Hi @Anonymous

You could try me way:

I make a sample table as below to have a test.

1.png

Build a Metrix visual:

2.png

Lets create a calculated column.

Total = CALCULATE(SUM('Table'[Column2]),ALLEXCEPT('Table','Table'[Column1]))

Drag Total Column into Rows in Fields.

Result:

4.png

Lets turn off the Stepped layout and the Column Subtotal.

If you turn on Row subtotals, the matrix will show as below, this looks not good.

Currently, there is no way to change the column subtotals to left. Please click the Idea link below and vote for this function.

This solution is very useful in case the table has a single level of hierarchy, but with several levels it no longer works.

Will there be possibilities that this is fixed from the visual object and that directly choose if you want to put the total to left or right as with the total of rows?

Thank you very much for reading.2022-11-07_10-47-03.jpg

here is a quick thought what if you try to create a totals measure and then make that your first column in your matrix.  Then turn totals of for your matrix.
