Matrix visual expand automatically when hierarchy filter is applied

I have a question. I have a matrix visualization and the rows can be drilled down (expanded). I also have a hierarchy filter that represents rows in the maxtix viualization. The image of the this is shown below:

When I apply the filter the following shows up:

Unless you do not manually drill down it will only blank space. After many drill down I get the following:

I was wondering if I apply filter at any hierarchy level, is there a way the Matrix visualization automatically drill down to the row selected in the filter?

Hi @rschaudhr ,

 

To my knowledge there is no possibility of making the drill down based on the slicer selection, slicers are for filtering data not drill dow/up.

 

If you have the matrix drill down to the lowest level then the slicer will filter to that specific record.  So if you force the matrix to always be on the lowest level when you go to that report page then using the filter will implement the desired filtering.

 

You can also try a custom visual that allows to have filters directly on your matrix:
