Matrix Visual in May 2024 Version

How to display a string in the "Value field" of Matrix Visual in Power Bi May 2024 Version as it is only taking numeric datatype value.

  • Hi SavitaT
To put the string in "values" you should use some aggregation / create a measure.

    תרגום לאנגלית:
Values in the matrix is a field that is intended for the results of any calculation, regardless of the data type. It is not related to the version but rather belongs to the logic of the POWER BI engine. This has been the case since the tool was first available.

There has been no change, the matrix logic has been working the same way since the tool was first available.

And it also has nothing to do with any settings.

I recommend downloading the file I attached in my response and comparing it to your logic.

If there is still a problem, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the desktop app.

If none of these help, open a support ticket, because there is no change/general bug.

    Hi @Ritaf1983,

Thank you for your support, after reinstalling the Power BI Desktop, the Matrix Visual is working now.

    Hi Ritaf1983,

Thank you for your valuable suggestion.

Despite attempting your solution, I encounter an obstacle in inserting any text value or measure into the Value field; it now exclusively accepts numeric inputs, whereas previously (before update), it accommodated both datatypes.

Could there have been any changes to Power BI Settings during the version update of Power BI features?
