Hi all,
My dates table starts from 1/1/2018 and ends at 30/6/2018. So, I only have Q1 and Q2.""
In matrix table whenever I put my dates column (Auto detection is on) I get 2018 and when I drill down I see Q1,Q2, Q3 and Q4 in my columns. Of course, the only amount thats populated is Q1 and Q2, but I'm confused as to why Q3 and Q4 is even there with everything blank
I fixed the issue by creating a date hierarchy myself. However, I'm very curious as to why Q3 and Q4 is populating in my matrix table because my colleague did the same auto detection function and pulled the dates column from dates table to matrix table column field, but he didn't get Q3 and Q4.
Thank you

Hi @Anonymous ,
It seems that these two screenshots are exactly the same... When you enable the Auto date/time option, a auto date/time table be created. The auto date/time table contains full calendar years encompassing all date values stored in the model date column. For example, the earliest value in a date column is Jan 1, 2018 and the latest value is June 30, 2018 in your dates table, the table will include all dates of a full calendar year 2018. You can find the details in this official documentation.
In addition, please check with your colleague whether he/she disable the Show items with no data feature for the related visual.
Best Regards
Rena
@Anonymous , I think this because you are using the default Date Hierarchy, which comes with a date.
Create Qtr, Month, year in date table and create custom Hierarchy
Yup, I did that and fixed it already. But the thing is it shouldn't be populating even if I put default date hierarchy. It's probably a setting issue and I'm really curious as to why

Everything is the same, even he used the autodetected date hierarchy from dates table but he isn't getting Q3 & Q4 but I am getting Q3 and Q4. Our dates table doesn't even have data after June.
Thankyou
