Matrix Showing Blank Values Based On Slicer

Hello,

I have a matrix showing sales by sales rep, account manager, division manager, etc. I have a slicer that is filtering by customer. When I select a customer, the matrix is showing all of the sales people despite them having no sales with that customer. I have a traditional star schema (DIMS/Fact). The values from the measure are accurate, but I don't understand why the matrix is still showing sales reps when there are no sales.

  • Matrix is showing all reps because Power BI displays dimension members even if measure = 0/blank.

    In your measure: return BLANK() instead of 0.

    Disable "Show items with no data" on row fields.

    Add visual-level filter: measure is not blank.

    👉 Quickest: change measure to return BLANK() for no sales.

    I'd suggest trying these two options,

    1. On your Matrix visual, see if 'Show items with no data' is checked for 'Sale rep', if so uncheck it.

    2. If your 'change' Measure is calculated as

    DIVIDE([CY] - [PY], [PY])

    then add conditions like

    IF(
    ISBLANK([CY]) && ISBLANK([PY]),
    BLANK(),
    DIVIDE([CY] - [PY], [PY])
    )
