Matrix Issue - Unable to drag simple data columns to Values section

I've spent over a month developing a dashboard which has now developed a nasty bug whereby I'm now unable to drag simple numerical ncolumns to the Values section of a Matrix visual.

 

Are there any typical troubleshooting steps I should try?

    davidr , Check if aggregation/Summarization of the column is marked as Don't summarize. Of so create a measure and try to drag

    One piece of good advice: You should never use automatic summarization on fields. Only real measures. If you do that, you'll save yourself hours of frustration and bugs that you'll never be able to discover. The choice is yours.
