Matrix Drill Through

I have two visuals: one matrix and one table. The matrix is monthly revenue by type. The table is the full year total revenue by type vs. target. Revenue is from one query, target from another. They are linked by type, region, and month. My matrix looks like this:

TypeJanFeb
New Customer$1,000$2,000
Existing Customer$4,000$3,000

The table looks like this:

TypeTotal RevenueTargetDifference
New Customer$3,000$4,000-$1,000
Existing Customer$7,000$6,000 $1,000

When I click a row in the matrix (e.g. New Customer), it highlights that row in the matrix. On the table, it shows a blank revenue for all other rows. So the New Customer row would look the same, but the Existing Customer would show a blank total revenue, still a target of $6,000 and a difference of -$6,000.

When I click a row in matrux, I either want the table to either highlight the table the same way, or do nothing to the table. The way it's working right now, it inaccurately shows revenue vs. target.

Hi @Anonymous ,

To disable the highlight ,you can turn to what have suggested by @  to change the interactions between the visuals, here is the reference.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-reports-visual-interactions
As for the inaccurate showing in table, you should click on the row in the matrix where the value is fixed one,not from a measure or an aggregated way.
If the error still exists, show me the screenshots of the expected output and the actual output better with the related .pbix file.

Best Regards,
Kelly

Hi @Anonymous ,

The interaction between visualizations has 3 options:

  • FIlter
  • Highligth
  • None

check the documentation to change the way it works for each visualization to the others.
