Maps: Custom grouping of cities to be used in Drill down

Hello There,

I have a requirement where i need to use hierarchy like this. province -> FSA Zone -> FSA.

PROVINCE                FSA ZONE      FSA
Ontario          06 - ON ZONE 01      K0A
Ontario          06 - ON ZONE 01      K0B
Ontario          06 - ON ZONE 01     K0G
Ontario          06 - ON ZONE 02      K0C
Ontario          06 - ON ZONE 02     K0E
Ontario          06 - ON ZONE 02     K6H
Alberta          09 - AB ZONE 01     T0P
Alberta          09 - AB ZONE 01     T9H
Alberta          09 - AB ZONE 02     T0H
Alberta          09 - AB ZONE 02     T8S
Alberta          09 - AB ZONE 02     T8V
Alberta          09 - AB ZONE 03     T7P
Alberta          09 - AB ZONE 03

     T9S

Now here, FSA Zone is a custom grouping that we follow. Is there a way or workaround to use a custom field as a drill value on Azure Map or any map.

Thanks & Regards

Pooja Rani

Hi @poojawadhwa ,
Based on your description, you're aiming to use a hierarchical structure (province -> FSA Zone -> FSA) for drilling down in a map visualization, with FSA Zone being a custom grouping.
Here are some steps you you can try to achieve your target
First, ensure your data, including the custom FSA Zone groupings, is structured in a way that can be easily consumed by Azure Maps. This might involve creating a GeoJSON file or similar that represents your hierarchical data.
Second, leverage the Azure Maps Web SDK to create and customize your map. You can add custom data as overlays on the map. For hierarchical drill-down, you might consider implementing interactive elements that respond to user actions (e.g., clicking on a province to drill down into FSA Zones).
