Mapping two tables by month names

I have three tables:

- One monthly capcity table: with capacity fixed by months, from Jan-Dec,  for 3 plants (capacity varies by month, not by year)

- One calendar table: 12 month dynamic rolling, starting from Apr/2023- Apr/2024.

- One bridge table with unique month. I created this table to map those two above table

I have to create a matrix with plants on row, Month/year on columns and capacity on values.

=>I mapped 'Capacity'[Month] with 'Calendar'[Month name]  still cannot use the calendar with month.year in my matrix. Any ideas why? Thank  you!

  • Hi Kinsley ,

Just noticed that the Month name on your calendar table does not seem to be in English, while the ones on the capacity and bridge tables are.
If you're performing a join on the month name, they need to be the same on all 3 tables.

    Kind regards,

    Rohit

Hi Rohit, I was quickly replacating my real data set with those three simple tables. The real data set has the same language on all the three, I also changed the calendar table attached. My problem is: given that the capacity is numeric, if I use the Year.month from calendar table as matrix column, all the capacity will be aggregated for all months instead of displayed as distinct value for each month. Even when I select "dont summarize", it doesnt work, the summarization just still get reinforced some how.
