Map with area and points

Hi,

I'm trying to map crime stats in the UK behind an asset map for my company. Obviously, I can't share this data, however I think this is more conceptual so doesn't need it. If it would help, please let me know.

So I can use ShapeMaps and a TopoJSON with Polygons to map UK counties with crime in them. I have also added the assets in Polygon format to this ShapeMap, however since they are tiny in comparison to the whole UK they're barely visible so it would be great to have these as points.

Alternatively, I've plotted the assets as points on a standard map, however this brings up the issue of not being able to get that backdrop of crime data.

Is there a way in Power BI to have both an area/shape map and points on this map? I've looked at ArcGIS but ideally we wouldn't have to pay for this.

Thanks,

Michael

Hi @michaelyoung1 ,

Based on my research, I'm afraid that the fuction can't be achieved for now. There's a similar post you can refer to: Filled regions and points on map. May be you can generate a custom visual. Or you can vote for this idea.
