Map visuals aren't enabled for your org

I'm getting an error that map visuals aren't enabled for my org when I publish my workbook. However, as soon as I make a filter selection, the map populates. When I clear the filter, the map remains populated and continues to work as expected. Any ideas?

Hi @rebeccamBI ,

This is indeed strange. When I disable the map option, no matter how I filter it, it reports an error instead of showing the map. I'm guessing it may be related to the browser cache, please clear your browser cache and reopen it to see if this still happens.

Alternatively, you can enable the "Map and filled map visuals" option in the Tenant settings.

If I am the only person with Power BI right now, who is the "Tenant Admin" they're talking about????

Thanks, Winniz! As soon as we enabled map and filled map visuals it worked. I guess what threw me off is that it worked at all before that. Weird, but an easy fix!

I bought a Power Bi Premium license and I am an administrator user, but I learned with the free version of Power bi desktop to make my reports using maps, now with Premium when I try to use the map visuals, it gives me an error, it says "request administrator tenant that enables map visuals."
I followed your procedure in the screenshot and from the portal I enabled the option, but it still does not work on desktop.
Can you help me please .

anyone find a fix for this?

i have the map enabled everywhere yet its still not working

You can go to Admin Portal on Microsoft Fabric and look for 'map'. It's in Portuguese because I'm Brazilian but it's the last option. Should be enabled. Captura de tela 2024-06-26 105941.png
