Map visualization Tool does not show correct address
- 3 years ago
Hi Scaggs ,
What I mean by an hierarchy is if you are using all the location column (country, state, ...) on your map similar to this:
Also be aware that you need to categorize each column with the column type, select the column and then data category:
This is also necessaru for the mapo to work properly.
Hi Scaggs ,
When working with adress and the map visualization you need to be sure that you have in context the full details, meaning that you need to do hierarchy based on the country, state, city, has I believe you have done by your description.
However in my experience with this type of information the lowest level of adress or zip code can have a big impact if the information is not perfectly matching the bing source that is used for the map visualizations.
Thank you Miguel for your quick response. I have to confess I am a beginner at Power BI and your response has me confused. I am not familiar with what a "hierarchy based on the country, state, city" means, nor what I would need to do to establish those parameters. Would you be so kind as to provide more details or instructions on how I would go about creating that hierarchy?
Thank you again!

Miguel,
Thanks for those details, as they proved to be very helpful. The last piece that is still causing problems is the leading zero on some of the postal codes. I have ready several posts on this known issue and I honestly don't understand how to correct this issue. Do you have a solution that is straight-forward?
Thank you.
